Tulip Festival 2025

Brooke kindly got us tickets to the tulip festival so we headed out to see the flowers!  We went late in the season to see the best of the tulips because things were just way too busy in early May but it was still pretty as a whole.

I liked this flower sculptures this year.

There were still some very good tulip beds!

The poppies were also really nice.

Koi is always a hit with the kids.

The light on this bank was particularly nice in person.
In fairness to Miles, he was hardly on his phone at all.
A family of geese!
He's not quite as excited about gnomes as he was 14 years ago, for some reason.

We passed some girls taking pictures for their social media profiles, and then that's all the kids wanted to do.  This is our set of "put your leg DOWN" pictures. (long story, inside joke).

Elliott likes contortionist pictures.

Elliott was SO excited for cotton candy.

It's basically the frozen version of strawberries and cream!

This tree is not actually from the tulip festival but later in the day, but I really liked this tree that was outside when I was waiting to be able to go into Molly's dance recital.

Oh, The Dances You'll Dance!

Molly finished up another year with dance!  Her class this year was a mix of sixth and seventh graders so she was one of the older girls in the class. She was initially a little sad to not be in a junior high class but her class ended up doing a lot of technique and she also really liked the other girls, so it ended up great.

The first night of the concert I got to help backstage.  Molly and her class were so cute playing games with the little girls and then Hands Up, Stands Up was also very popular.

I was excited to see her in concert on Saturday night! The recital this year had a Dr. Seuss theme.  Her first dance was inspired by The Lorax, and her second dance was inspired by Hop on Pop.  Both dances turned out great!  Just in case you're having a hard time finding her, she's wearing contacts in both songs and she's the first person you can see in both dances :)

Thirsty in PG

Our family has been SO excited for the new Thirst Drinks to open up near us.  It is technically a soda place but we are there for the pretzels and beignets.  They thought they could open this fall but they opened in May so we've had a nice long time to get ready.

We went for a celebratory snack BEFORE Molly's dance recital because her dance recital finishes so late at night.  The beignets, pretzels, pretzel dog and cookie were all delicious!
